(ATF) – Southern China’s industrial heartland has added its name to the list of provinces that claim to be up and running again after the coronavirus lockdown.

Officials in the Guangdong government claim that more than 87% the province’s enterprises are back to full operations and industrial production at 98.7% of pre-lockdown levels.

The overall return rate of enterprises in the industrial sector exceeded 99%, officials said at a press conference Sunday. The wholesale and retail service enterprises have basically returned to work, and migrant workers have also returned to work, the conference was told. 

The return rate of 984 key projects under construction in the province has exceeded 99%, officials said.
